Genealogy is becoming a massive pastime for thousands about the world and I think the reason that it has be more popular recently is, in a phrase, the internet. Before the days of Google, it had been an extremely prolonged and drawn out process of writing letters and frequently waiting days for a reply.

During the times of the Romans or invasions of the Huns, Vikings or Goths it would have been my ancestors who sometimes by courage or the acts of self-preserving cowardice, survived!

Any popular occasion ever sold or amazing historic times - you realize that some of your ancestors were residing during these times. What did they consider it all? Were they there? How made it happen affect their lives?

Ancestors are shadowy figures from the past. They ask you to get their stories, to come to know them.

In some cases you is only going to be fortunate enough to discover a name. But, armed with a name and with an extraordinary quantity of persistence to trawl through reams of irrelevant files - you may well be fortunate to locate another snippet. You may find a tiny little bit of data which can tell you volumes about your ancestor.

Relatives will tell you stories that you grow up thinking as gospel. More often than not you will find these experiences are very a grow from the truth.

More than likely, whatsoever you will find can increase more questions. It's these issues which will drive you onwards to try and tease out carefully and patiently, a profile of an individual who died hundreds of years ago -someone who had a name and a family. You'll find out about their trials and tribulation. Their body runs through your veins. You'll never know for sure, but you might be the residing picture of them. You could have their eyes, their abilities, their sense of comedy or their popular temper. You'll never know until you begin looking.

Why must only the wealthy and popular be remembered? The daily, working class person endured more and probably found more of living than some other class. When we share our research and put it in the public domain then we could ensure it is easy for the descendants to locate us.

We research the past with great passion therefore that individuals may establish a range and consequently we ourselves is likely to be remembered.
